NEW RELEASES

Updated HDSAI Interpretation Document and Operational Guidelines are NOW posted!
The updated Health Department Self-Assessment Interpretation document has been updated with changes for 2019; the changes are indicated in purple text. A Summary of Changes document that outlines the changes has also been posted.

All three of the NCLHD Accreditation Operational Guideline documents have been updated and posted. The changes made to the Operational Guidelines are noted in the Record of Revision, which is found on page two in each of the Operational Guideline documents.

 

Updated Roles and Responsibilities of Boards of Health Related to the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Program are NOW posted!
This resource includes both a PowerPoint presentation and guide that local health directors and/or AAC’s can use to provide training directly to their Board of Health. The PowerPoint provides a basic review of Board of Health specific role and responsibilities related to the NCLHD Accreditation program. The guide clearly identifies the accreditation activities that involve the board to accomplish. The guide is also applicable to all board of health governance structures.

 

Welcome New NCLHD Accreditation Board Members
Welcome new NCLHD Accreditation Board Members: Dr. Jim Tillman, N.C. Association of Boards of Health representative; Jacqueline Newton, N.C. Association of County Commissioners representative; Virginia Niehaus, N.C. Division of Public Health representative; and Dr. Anna Schenck, At-Large representative. We look forward to working with these board members as they start their terms in 2019.
 

ACCREDITATION IN ACTION

Annual Accreditation Update Webinar – Register now!
The 2019 Annual Accreditation Update Webinar will be held on January 22 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. The webinar is at no cost, but does require pre-registration. Please register here: Registration. During the webinar, we will provide an overview of the changes the have been made to the HDSAI Interpretation document, the development of the AAC Advisory Council, the transition to the new online Dashboard for evidence submission and the transition to Microsoft Teams for ongoing communication and resource sharing between AACs.We encourage all health departments to have at least one staff member attend.The archived webinar will be posted on our website following the webinar.

 

Dr. Blackburn Recognized at the NCPHA Fall 2018 Educational Conference 
Outgoing board chairman Dr. Bob Blackburn was recognized for 12 years of service to the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation program during the awards luncheon at the NCPHA Fall 2018 Educational Conference. Dr. Blackburn was recognized for the many contributions he has made to the NCLHDA program. We extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Blackburn.

Dr. Blackburn recognized for 12 years of service to the NCLHD Accreditation Board.

Accreditation 101: New Agency Accreditation Training: April 25, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Lida Blalock Hall, 1801 Glendale Ave, Wilson, N.C. Registration will open in February 2019.
