Survey Final Countdown!

The month of May might have come to an end, but you still have a few days to complete the Annual Survey! Your feedback is vital to help our program move in the right direction. Before the week’s end, hold some time on your calendar and give yourself a coffee break with our survey! As a reminder, we ask all Health Directors, Agency Accreditation Coordinators and others with Accreditation responsibilities to complete the survey. Visit go.unc.edu/NCLHDA2022 to share your feedback!

Updated Programs List

The updated Programs List is finally published! As you will see, a handful of programs have moved under the Division of Child and Family Well-Being rather than the Division of Public Health and therefore are not technically covered by the accreditation program. These programs are marked with an asterisk in gray rows. Download the list:

Accreditation in Action

SAVE THE DATES: Resuming In-Person AAC Training!

As many of you may recall, our program has typically paired Accreditation 101: New AAC Training with NCPHA conferences so that we could more easily meet together in person. We’ve missed the chance to be in a room together, and we are so excited to share that we’ll be back in person in Fall 2022, COVID-19 permitting! Save the date for Monday afternoon, September 12 in Wilmington, NC. We hope to see new AACs, co-AACs, and back-up AACs there!

NCLHDA Dashboard Overview Webinar remains a pre-requisite for Accreditation 101: New AAC Training. The Dashboard Overview Webinar will continue to be offered in an online webinar format, scheduled for Wednesday, August 31 from 9-10:30.

Registration is required and will open on July 11 for both training opportunities. In-person training will include a $50-75 registration fee to cover room and refreshment costs.

Tips and Tricks for Accreditation Success: Stories from the Field

Sharing New Knowledge

Bradley Hodges is Madison County Health Department’s new Preparedness/Accreditation Coordinator. While he has been quickly absorbing all there is to know about accreditation, he has also been preparing helpful resources to train his full accreditation team. He has built an Accreditation Presentation and an Accreditation Notes page as reference materials for his team members to use as they learn more about the program. He has shared these resources on the NCLHDA Microsoft Teams account as a resource for  you all as well.

If you’re interested in accessing the Microsoft Teams account and have trouble using the links, please email NCLHDaccreditation@unc.edu for support.

We want to hear from you

Share your tips and tricks for accreditation success with other local health departments across the state. If you have a tip or trick that you would like to share, send a summary – no more than 500 words – including the activity addressed and any lessons learned. Please send your submission to NCLHDaccreditation@unc.edu. Stories will be shared via these monthly highlights.
