2017-2018 NCLHD Accreditation Annual Report (video)

Message from the Accreditation Administrator

– Amy Belflower Thomas, MHA, MSPH, CPH

The NCLHD Accreditation Program has hit a new milestone – all 84 health departments across North Carolina have been reaccredited at least once. We celebrate this milestone and recognize the work of all health departments across North Carolina. As you view our 2017-2018 Annual Report, you will see all the ways we are continuing to improve the program including the implementation of the Accreditation with Honors designation that recognizes those who excel in meeting the accreditation standards; implementing a survey to identify areas for program improvement; and updating all our operational guidelines to ensure we provide clear and consistent programmatic guidance.

We are releasing our 2017-2018 Annual report as a video to make it easier to share. We encourage you to share this video link with others who are interested in learning more about the program. If you are a part of the local health department accreditation program, we encourage you to let others know how your work is connected to the accomplishments highlighted in this report.

We want to thank the many staff from local health departments across North Carolina who have shared their successes, piloted new projects and responded to our first annual survey. Their contributions are leading to continued quality improvement and increased innovation of the NCLHD Accreditation Program. We look forward to carrying the momentum of innovation in to the new year!
