Equity in Accreditation

Thank you to the five health departments who participated in Equity in Accreditation focus group discussions this June. Our program has been busy analyzing the great takeaways we heard as we also complete an internal equity audit and draft equity action items to inform our strategic projects this year. We are encouraged by the role many of our health departments are playing to foster health equity conversations. Moving forward, we will be including health equity related resources in our monthly highlights per suggestions from you all, and we hope to integrate some examples into our stories from the field! We’ll be releasing summaries of our takeaways on the website here in the coming month from our focus groups and equity audit.

Show off Accreditation Success with Decals!

We want to make sure you have what you need to show off your accreditation success!  With our new program assistant on board and supply ordering chains back up, we are back in stock!  Over the next couple of weeks, health departments accredited in Winter 2020 will receive their much-delayed materials (certificate, plaques, decals and “with honors” swag if applicable!). For other health departments interested in additional vinyl decals (with seal only, see photo of a “with honors” example), simply email us at NCLHDaccreditation@unc.edu with your mailing address and desired quantity by August 12th. We’ll send them your way along with an updated certificate with your current expiration date!
