Annual Update Webinar – Success!

Thank you to the 122 people who tuned in live to our Annual Update Webinar on January 23, representing 61 of our health departments! If you missed it, or if you want to look back for a refresher, check out the webinar recording and slides that are archived on our website.

If you haven’t already, please be sure to take a look at the new HDSAI Interpretation Document 2024 and bookmark this for your easy reference! You can also review the Summary of Changes for a quick review of what changed in this document since last year. Most notably, this 2024 version directly incorporates the COVID-related notes from the 2020-2021 retrospective document into the updated HDSAI Interpretation Document 2024, which means that health departments can now reference this single document when choosing to use the “new” HDSAI option for site visits.

Accreditation in Action

Register for Bi-Annual Trainings Today!

As announced at the Annual Update Webinar, this Spring we are offering our Accreditation 101 Training (April 23) and NCLHDA Dashboard Webinar (April 25) both in a virtual format to allow for greater participation across the state, as I we know some of you have not been able to make the recent in-person events. We are glad that we can alternate our training formats between in-person and virtual options so that we can best meet everyone’s needs, and we look forward to seeing you in-person at the many fabulous NC Public Health events already taking place this spring!

Stories from the Field

Best Practices from Fall 2023: Assessment Standard

Within the Assessment standard (Benchmarks 1-8), our site visit team identified one best practice to highlight during the Fall 2023 site visit cycle:

Activity 3.1, Craven County:  The Site Visit Team identified the i2i pilot project, an initiative to extract real time (or as near as possible) health data for activities and statistics from CureMD and other databases, as a best practice. Of particular interest is the ability of this initiative to be replicated throughout the state to assist departments with a better understanding of the health needs of the populations they serve.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU

All of you across the state have unique approaches where you have found success. To help us all learn, we love when you share your tips and tricks for accreditation success with us! If you have a tip or trick that you would like to share, send a summary to NCLHDaccreditation@unc.edu. Stories will be shared via these monthly highlights.
